Bangsal is the gateway to international tourism routes to three islands, namely Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. Various kinds of professions can be found here, including labourers, airut pol (seawater police), motorcycle taxi drivers, Cidomo driver (Lombok-style horse-powered transportation), hawkers, souvenir merchants, even ticket mafias and gamblers, all gathered in that small harbour. The people who live in tourist attractions (Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air) also use Bangsal as their daily transportation route to Pemenang Market which is the economic centre of the people of Pemenang Subdistrict.
